Our chairman's vision
Afforestation – “Kaadu Valarpom” taking up the challenge of converting the waste and the barren lands into fertile and round-the-year yield producing lands providing value to the land and the people of the land. To simply put, “Transformation of Paalaivanam to Solaivanam” is our Chairman’s Vision and Mission.
Introduction
Agriculture is the backbone of Indian economy. More than 65 percent of our population depends on agriculture. One-third of our national income comes from agriculture. The development of agriculture has much to do with the economic welfare of our country. The Government is trying to help the farmers in bringing new initiatives to help farmers making agriculture sustainable. ‘RVS farms’ is one such accomplishment in the arena of sustainable agriculture rendering service to nature and mankind
Our Chairman’s Success Story
Apart from establishing and managing numerous educational institutions across the state of Tamil Nadu, his passion and delight is in agriculture – planting trees wherever whenever possible. Our Chairman has done a pioneering role in ushering Green Revolution and subsequent developments in agriculture through KVK schemes for the past two decades. He has put his body, mind, soul and has achieved in converting four thousand acres of wastelands into fertile and yield-producing lands in places like Thenkasi, Tathankulam, Tanjore, Dindigul, Ayyalur, Sempatti, and Coimbatore through modern research and technological developments making a visible impact and providing employment opportunities to thousands of agricultural labourers in and around the farms. The pinnacle is the environmental benefits that are enjoyed by the ecosystem.
RVS Sempatti Farm
LOCATION: Sempatti is in Dindigul District of Tamil Nadu, India located on the Dindigul-Vathalagundu highway, afew kilometers away from Ottanchathiram road.
TOTAL AREA (PIE CHART): 260 Acres.
TOTAL NUMBER OF TREES: More than 60,000 trees of different species are available.
RVS Tanjore Farm
LOCATION: Tanjore, Tanjore District.
DISTANCE FROM: 20 Kms from Tanjore Brihadeeswarar Temple.
LANDMARK: Across Trichy – Tanjore National Highway from Usilampatti. KVK – Agriculture Science center is located here
TOTAL AREA: 400Acres
RVS AgroTech Industries
RVS AGRO TECH INDUSTRIES PVT LTD, Thathankulam is a railroad station (class S – Spot Feature) in State of Tamil Nadu, Asia with the region font code of Asia/Pacific. It is located at an elevation of 17 meters above sea level.
Total Acres: 1200 acres of agriculture land. .
WATER LEVEL & IRRIGATION: Copious water level found from 50 feet under the ground.
FARM ANIMALS: Goat, sheep, hen, goose, cow, hunting dogs, and rabbit.
OTHER FACETS: Vermiculture Composting, Old Age Home, Check Dam. Our Chairman has come up with an innovative idea to enrich the soil by adding the coconut barks to the soil enabling it to decompose, mineralize, thereby revitalizing the soil adding value to the soil and the crops. We do have a juice factory, cement factory, Matriculation School, and Watch Tower.
Entire farm area is planned, well-fenced with well-structured pathway. There is a guest house and staff quarters for the accommodation of people. Within a distance of 3 Kms from farm is the Kamarajar dam supplying water for the entire part of the farm providing livelihood for 250 families, proving upliftment for the downtrodden. Our farm is centrally located between Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Thiruchendur, Nanguneri, Kanyakumari, Colachel Seaport and Kulasekarapattinam. It is an ideal location to start Government & Private Projects, Organic Plantations, Animal Husbandry, Windmill and other manufacturing units which is suitable for this environment.
